James Cleveland has painted the coast of Nova Scotia, where he grew up and now lives, for over forty years. His works focus on the villages and work of fisherman, representing the way of life of his fathers and grandfathers going back some five generations.
Concurrently, he explores a language of symbolism through his archetypal paintings.
